A little bit of this or that... Movie soundtrack edition!
-----
Lets talk Iron Eagle for a minute. This movie was the PG version of Top Gun, as my mom used to say.
Hold the reel and lt me explain my thoughts on this under appreciated film:
1. Iron Eagle may have lesser known Hollywood stars at the time (minus Louis Gossett Jr) but here are random facts to blow your mind about the cast.
A. Melora Hardin was in this movie. Before you say, who's that; she was Jan Levinson in, The Office.
B. Shawnee Smith went on to star in the, Saw, franchise.
C. Robbie Rist who played Milo, was Oliver, in the Brady Bunch.
D. Michael Bowen who played Knotcher, was Jack Weller in Breaking Bad.
E. Rob Garrison who played, Packer, was better known as Tommy from, The Karate Kid.
2. While Top Gun's soundtrack was pretty amazing, let's not discount Iron Eagle.
The soundtrack had many amazing metal acts of the 1980s; Queen, King Kobra, Dio, Adrenalin, and Twisted Sister (not featured on the album), just to name a few.

Top Gun on the other hand, this move was a huge blockbuster hit in every sense of the word. Yes, it had a better cast, better script, and just kicked ass.
1. The soundtrack just spoke to everyone. A little bit of rock, a little bit of pop, and the most amazing guitar riff laid down in the 80s by, Steve Stevens.
Overall it was better but not by much.
2. The movie had an established Hollywood cast and many of them continued the careers after.

Random facts that tie in both movies.
1. Rob Garrison, Michael Ironsides and Clarence Gilyard, all had roles in, The Karate Kid franchise.
2. Both movies were released in 1986.

Which movie soundtrack are you picking?
For me the ultimate soundtrack is a tie between Guardians of the Galaxy and Conan the Barbarian
