Lets talk 80s Hair Metal and groups that never got enough recognition for their contributions to a decade of music.
We all know Guns N'Roses, Twisted Sister, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, but do we really know, Winger? Let's dive into this underrated group and why they should get more love.
1. Reb Beach is one of the best guitarists of the 80s. He should really be mentioned in the same circles as Jeff Lynch (Dokken) and Slash (GNR). Ironically enough, Beach, replaced Lynch as the guitarist for Dokken.
2. Kip Winger was a classically trained musician who switched to metal. I mean, who does that? No one. This resulted in him sending a letter to Alan Parsons, which he actually replied.
3. Kip calls them the hair band version of, Dream Theater.

All of that being said, he's a trivia nugget you can save for your friends.
On their first album on the bottom it says, Sahara. That was the name of the group before Alice Cooper suggested they rename their group to, Winger.
