Before you revoke my Deadhead card, I'm probably going to ruffle a lot of feathers but oh well..
What's the best live, Grateful Dead album? Here's a hint...
It is not the famous, Cornell show. Nor is it one of the Fillmore West shows in February/March 1969. It's not even the Pembroke Pines show though at that show they play both of my favorite Dead songs.
It is this one right here. Buffalo 77 hands down is the greatest live show in my mind. Why do you ask?
It starts off with the best trio of songs; Slipknot, Help is on the Way, and Franklin's Tower. There's no better way to start a show. Heck, they go right into, Cassidy after that. 44 minutes of pure perfection.
That's not all though, they end with Sugar Magnolia and Uncle John's Band. Everything in between is excellent as well.
I could listen to this album on repeat all day and never grow tired of it. The band is on point and totally feeding off each other's energy. Donna crushes her vocals with Jerry, Bobby is stellar on the guitar, just magic my friends. Simply the Dead being the Dead, leaving other groups in the dust.
So all of that being said, what's your favorite live Dead show?

okay, I am HERE for this because your recommendation for Without A Net put me on the bus.
I found a list on Reddit of starter live shows that I've been working through off and on, but so far, none of them come close to Without a Net.
I was born too late to see them at their best- sorry.
