What's Spinning, Vol. 35

How do you like them apples?

I can't count how many times I have seen this movie. It's one of the most perfect movies I have ever seen. From start to finish it just speaks to me.

Affleck and Damon absolutely wrote a gem in this movie. Add in Robin Williams and Minnie Driver and it's legendary. So many great one liners through the movie.

But let's discuss a few things.

1. The L Street Tavern where Will and his friends hang out for drinks is about the size of a shoebox. It's probably the smallest bar I have ever had a drink in. Granted it's in Southie (South Boston) but it didn't stop me from paying $16 for a 12 Oz Bud Light, that I happened to spill half on me because it was wall to wall people wanting a beer where Good Will Hunting was filmed.

2. Having seen MIT, I can say I was very impressed. I'm no dummy but man some of these kids are on another level. The good news is, give them a few beers and it levels the playing field a bit. The campus is actually in Cambridge not Boston.

3. They dedicated the park bench that Williams and Damon sat on during their 'tasters choice moment' and the park is beautiful.

Now to the soundtrack. Elliott Smith is just simply brilliant. There is probably no better soundtrack from that year or movies. Just perfection. Miss Misery is one hell of a song.
