The super group before they were a super group? Hear me out..
Ritchie Blackmore on the guitar.
David Coverdale as the lead vocalist.
Ian Paice on drums.
Glenn Hughes on bass.

Blackmore is one of the most amazing guitarists of his generation and totally revolutionized how one plays the guitar. Especially his epic solos on power ballads in the 80s. Easily number 2 behind Reb Beach and right in front of George Lynch (corrected a typo) from Dokken.
David Coverdale, what else needs to be said? This guy was already making a name for himself with Deep Purple. His next band cemented his status as a legend. After leaving Deep Purple, he went on to form, Whitesnake.
Ian Paice was one heck of a drummer, probably a Tier B drummer behind Neal Peart of Rush and others. Still he played them very well in his own right. He would join Coverdale in the band, Whitesnake.
Glenn Hughes on bass was nothing short of brilliant. He spent a short time with Tommy Iommi and Black Sabbath but unfortunately his addiction got the best of him and he was dropped after 6 performances. He also spent time with, Finders Keepers, Trapeze, and other English rock bands.
All that being said, that's one heck of a lineup for a live album. Makes you wonder how far they could have gone if they didn't all go their own way.

Blackmore second to Reb Beach? Come on!! 😅 But yes, DP has been a super band many times, including this one.
(By the way, it's George Lynch)
