For today's spin, we are going back to the 1950s.
As a kid, my parents would listen to the Oldies Station, 103.3 on the radio whenever we'd get in our Dodge Caravan. They'd play all the good songs like Rockin' Robin, The Wanderer, etc. Those songs were a part of their childhood and they also became a part of mine.
Truth be told, I've never seen American Graffiti and I only got the soundtrack because of the songs on the album. Sacrilege, I know but that's OK with me.
What I do know is, the classic cars, the drive-in, burgers with fries and milkshakes, just seem like a simpler time for sure. The closest to that I have ever come was a place called, Johnny Rocket's. They had heavenly strawberry milkshakes and those crispy fries with salt. That brings me back to my childhood when we'd go there for dinner sometimes.
I guess in a way, I had my own American Graffiti moment in the late 80s / early 90s.

You can get through a life just fine without having seen "American Graffiti." It's a postcard, not the real thing. If you want the real thing, watch "Blackboard Jungle" or "Rebel Without a Cause."
