Well it's Friday so that means only one thing, it's #FarOutFridayVinyl
I decided to really pull out another psychedelic pop album courtesy of, The Hobbits. The album cover alone is pretty far out, but the album itself is pretty wild as well. It's not the hard-core psychedelic rock that I've showcased in the past but it does have its moments.
The Hobbits, were a studio band formed in Queens, NY, in 1967. Their lead singer, Jimmy Curtiss, transitioned from teen pop idol and drifted into the psychedelia scene in the late 60s.
This was the band's first album and while it didn't sell at the time, today, it's heavily sought after by many collectors of psychedelic rock/pop. Sadly the band didn't survive past their second album due to poor sales as Decca, their record label, cut them and cancelled their contract before a third album could be made.
Note: This album has nothing to do with Middle Earth and JRR Tolkien. I hope you enjoy it anyway.
