I've been on the lookout for an artist who's similar to Jimmy Buffett and Spotify cane through with this recommendation. I've heard a few of his songs but never really explored his discography.

As the son of a surfer, Johnson, himself became a surfer until an accident derailed his career. Johnson then turned to his other love, music.

While at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Johnson opened up for then unknown groups, Sublime and Dave Matthews. His popularity as an artist grew and in 2001 he finally got his big break and recorded his first album, Brushfire Fairytales.

In addition to his music, he devotes time to countless charities.

All that being said, I think I may have found an artist the allows me to channel relaxation and my love of the ocean.
