Lets talk crooners... Frank, Dean, Sammy, Al, and the rest. Now for a probably very unpopular opinion though, so brace yourself...
Dean Martin was the best of the bunch. His music was fun, enjoyable, and just reminds me Vegas in the 50s.
Imagine if you will, Dean, with a whiskey in hand at the Sands or Flamingo. You spent a few hours at the poker table and now you're heading to see him. His stage presence, the music, etc. He's singing, Volare, as you cut into your prime rib, butter your baked potato, and sip some chianti. It's perfection! The velvet curtains, the heavy cigarette and cigar smoke fills the air, and you see Dean stop by your table asking, brother can you pass the wine?
Sure, Frank, had the ties to certain folks who ran the casino but Dean brought people to the casino. Dean would bring the house down every night.
Who do you say is the best crooner?
