British Bubble Gum Pop or Psychedelic Rock? Let the debate begin.
I guess in my mind when I picture psychedelic rock, I expect fuzzed out guitars, out of this world cosmic sounds, and guitars that melt time and space.
I have come to expect that some of the genre isn't as far out as the likes of, Ultimate Spinach or Grateful Dead, but instead are groups like, The Zombies or this one featured today, The Flying Machine. That's perfectly alright though because the music is good.

The Flying Machine is a one album wonder band from England who probably should have gotten another shot but in the UK their album barely made a dent in sales so that might have something to do with it. Though here in the US they had a song that made it to 4 on the charts and it sold over a millon copies. Not bad, I guess but not good enough for a second effort.
The album is a bit of bubble gum pop that was prevalent in the 60s, but it also has a few moments where they melt a little time and space with psychedelic elements. Some give it poor ratings as it was cookie cutter stuff typical of the time, but upon listening to it, I give them credit for doing what they did.
I say, give it a listen and you will enjoy it.
