Decided to hit up the record store about 5 minutes from our new house..
It was absolutely perfect in every way. Right when I walked in, they had a psychedelic rock section about two feet from the door. I was in heaven.
What made it better was this gem that's been on my list forever. Just could never find an original in good shape. Well the wait is over, mission accomplished.
Surrealistic Pillow is one of those albums that any psychedelic rock collector should have. Also anyone who's into the 1960s music scene, needs this album. It's a piece of musical history.
The album is not without controversy though. Some debate the presence of Jerry Garcia on the album as some say he was a 'spiritual advisor' and some say he actually coined the album's name by saying it sounded 'as surrealistic as a pillow is soft'. He was credited as being the guitarist on a few songs after the orginal release. No one knows for certain though.
