Did you need an out of this world album recommendation? Boy do I have one for you.
What happens when you combine the magical world of, The Lord of the Rings and psychedelic rock/prog rock? You get this masterpiece by Bo Hansson.
The album takes you from The Shire to the Gray Havens. The whole 'trip' it just makes your mind wander in the best possible way.
Ironically enough, Hansson, ended up picking up the book series after his girlfriend recommended it. He ended up enjoying it so much, he developed this album shortly after.
This album also laid the groundwork for future instrumental prog rock albums that were made famous by Brian Eno, Rick Wakeman, and Mike Oldfield. Some say it was also his finest work, and I agree wholeheartedly.
