Dire Straits has always been one of my favorite groups from way back when. I vividly remember the days when MTV would actually play music videos. The one that came to mind is, Money for Nothing, as it was on a VHS tape my mom made just for me.
That being said, Communique, is the band's sophomore album. Some say it lacked the intensity of their first but in my mind it might not be as intense but the blues rhythm does a great job of following up a stellar first act.
The album was mixed at the famous, Muscle Shoals Sound studio following the band's, Dire Straits Tour in 1978.
Due to creative differences between the two Knopfler brothers this would be David's last full album with the band as he left during recording of their third album in 1980.
